Linginfelter Named to Head Virginia Natural Gas; AGL Resources Prepares to Close Acquisition
Henry P. ("Hank") Linginfelter, vice president of regulatory affairs for Atlanta Gas Light Company, has been selected to become president of Virginia Natural Gas, Inc. (VNG), upon the closing of AGL Resources' acquisition of VNG. The transaction is expected to close later this year.
The selection of Linginfelter marks another milestone in AGL's acquisition of the Virginia utility. AGL Resources' acquisition of VNG from Dominion Resources received final approval by the Virginia State Corporation Commission (VSCC) on July 28, less than three months after it was announced. The acquisition is pending approval by the Securities and Exchange Commission, approval of Dominion's disposition of VNG by the Federal Trade Commission, and the VSCC's approval of filings pursuant to the Virginia Affiliates Act.
Linginfelter has been with Atlanta Gas Light for 17 years, working in various sales, marketing and division operations jobs before being elected as a vice president three years ago. As vice president of regulatory affairs, he had primary responsibility for all of the company's state and federal regulatory matters including responsibility for all matters before the Georgian Public Service Commission.
Clayton H. Preble, senior vice president, AGL Resources, a 30-year veteran of the company, will assume responsibility for regulatory affairs for Atlanta Gas Light Company.
"Hank has a solid background in serving customers and also is very experienced in managing cooperative and productive relationships with government officials and civic leaders that are so important to our business," said Paula Rosput, president and CEO of AGL Resources. "I am confident that Hank will continue the commitment to service that VNG has had in Virginia and will ensure that the integration of this acquisition continues to add value to shareholders and customers."
Linginfelter has a bachelor's degree in industrial management from Georgia Tech and an MBA from Georgia State University.
