Atlanta Gas Light Company (AGLC) appointed Larry Buie as general manager for the company's Chattanooga service area. Buie will be responsible for managing all distribution service operations throughout Chattanooga's service territory, which includes the cities of Chattanooga, Cleveland, Red Bank, East Ridge, Lookout Mountain, and Signal Mountain. Approximately 60,000 customers are served in these areas where the system throughput is about 20 billion cubic feet of gas per year.

Buie joins AGLC following a lengthy career working for Southern Natural Gas Company where he gained experience in all phases of pipeline operations and project management. In his 23 years of experience, Buie obtained expertise in the areas of team building, pipeline design and testing, and feasibility analysis. He progressed throughout the company as an Engineer, Project Engineer, Senior Engineer, and Transmission Superintendent. Most recently Buie served as an account manager for El Paso Natural Gas, where he was responsible for managing Industrial and Municipal customers.

Buie is a 1977 graduate in Civil Engineering from Mississippi State University. His recent civic and community involvement includes work for the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce; Winston County Community Board; Winston County DARE Board. He also served as president and member of the board of directors for the Mississippi Natural Gas Association and was chairman of the administrative council for Wesley United Methodist Church. A native of Brookhaven, Mississippi, Larry and his wife, Hester, have two daughters, Andrea, and Adrienne.
