Atlanta Gas Light Launches Updated 'Useful' Website; New Site Name to be Featured on Radio, Billboard and Buses

Atlanta Gas Light Company has redesigned its web site so that it's more 'useful' and user friendly. The site's new address is Visitors to the site will find a fresh, new look featuring the AGL Store where customers can buy gas water heaters and Atlanta Gas Light exclusive Seasoned Oak gas logs.

In addition to standard company news and information about natural gas, visitors can also use the energy audit tool to get a personalized recommendation for improving energy efficiency in the home or send a question to the "energy advisor." A list of active gas marketers is also included.

A comprehensive advertising campaign was launched this month to promote the new site. The name and logo will appear as a wrap on Marta buses, as well as on billboards throughout metro Atlanta. A series of radio ads will run in the local market for the next several weeks.

"We understand that customers are looking for fast and easy access to energy-related information and services, and the web site provides an additional channel for Atlanta Gas Light to meet that need," said William Peeples, Vice President of New Business and Marketing for Atlanta Gas Light Company. "Visitors can access our energy library or perform an online energy audit, and they can shop for natural gas products from the comfort of their home or office."

Atlanta Gas Light selected Enercom, Inc. to provide its industry-leading Internet application, Energy Depot, as part of its marketing strategy to deliver e-commerce services to residential natural gas customers in Georgia.

"Our market objectives include retail energy marketing and customer care services," said Johnnie Hinton, program manager for Atlanta Gas Light. "Enercom's software application creates a gateway for marketing gas appliances and allows us to assist retail customers in the decision making and purchasing process for gas appliances without the overhead of a sales force."

Atlanta Gas Light Company is the largest natural gas distributor in the Southeast and provides delivery service to more than 1.8 million customers in Georgia, Chattanooga, Tennessee and the Hampton Roads area of Norfolk, Virginia. It also is the primary subsidiary of AGL Resources , a regional energy holding company with operations throughout the Southeast. Although natural gas distribution is AGL Resources' core business, it also is engaged in other energy-related businesses, including retail propane sales and customer care services for energy marketers.
