Atlanta Gas Light and Teamsters Union Local 528 Ratify New Contract

Atlanta Gas Light Company and Teamsters Union Local 528 has ratified a new two-and-a-half year contract for the utility's bargaining unit employees. The contract is retroactive to September 25, 2000 and will expire on March 23, 2003.

  Highlights of the new contract include:

  *  four percent wage increase for all union members in the first year;
  *  an insurance program that matches the insurance program available to
     non-bargaining unit employees;
  *  the availability of more shifts for employees and company to choose on
     a location-by-location basis; and
  *  the addition of an appliance service representative job classification.
