AGL Resources today named Kristin Kirkconnell senior vice president, information services and technology. Kirkconnell will continue to serve as chief information officer. She joined the company in 2001 and previously was vice president, information services and technology.

"Kristin's leadership has been invaluable as we integrate technology platforms across our businesses, allowing us to realize operational efficiencies and continue the transformation of our business," said Eric Martinez, AGL Resources' executive vice president of utility operations.

Prior to joining AGL Resources, Kirkconnell served as chief information officer for consumer and interconnect services with BellSouth. Earlier in her career, Kirkconnell served as vice president for the National Association of Securities Dealers, the primary private-sector regulator of America's securities industry. She also held numerous positions in financial applications, registration and licensing systems, and regulatory systems with leading companies including EDS and Universal Systems Incorporated.

Kirkconnell serves on the Board of Consumer Credit Counseling Services and is a member of the Georgia CIO Leadership Association's Advisory Board. She is a graduate of George Mason University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree.
