Gulf Power restoration work almost complete

Gulf Power Company expects to have power restored to all their customers by 10 a.m. today. As of 5 a.m., the utility has restored power to 47,486 of 47,520 customers who have lost power since outages began Tuesday afternoon.

“It’s a testament to the commitment of our crews and support staff who always try to keep our customers at the center of everything we do,” said Jeff Rogers, Corporate Communications manager. “For our crews, it’s been tough working in frigid temperatures and dealing with icy road conditions — but they’ve persevered and accomplished a monumental task.”

In addition to Gulf Power crews, assistance came from sister companies Mississippi Power and Alabama Power, as well as contract crews.

“The additional crews made the difference on day two,” Rogers said. “By 10 p.m. last night, we were down to fewer than 600 customers without power. And it took every team member to make it happen.”

• All Gulf Power customer offices should be open at noon today.

• All collection activities have been suspended through Monday, Feb. 3.

• Representatives in the Customer Care Center are ready to assist customers 24/7. Just call 800-225-5797.
