Georgia Power names Louise Scott vice president of customer services
Scott to focus on enhancing and improving customer experience
ATLANTA – April 15, 2014 – Georgia Power announced today that it has named Louise Scott to the role of vice president of customer services. Scott was elected by the company's board of directors and replaces Gerald Johnson who retired in 2012. In her new role, Scott will be responsible for enhancing and improving customer experiences with the company in all areas, including in person, over the phone and online. She will oversee various related departments and functions such as Customer Satisfaction, the company’s Customer Care Center and Customer Field Services, among others. Most recently as chief information officer (CIO) for Georgia Power, Scott led the development and implementation of information technology strategy and operations for the company, as well as technology execution for Distribution at Southern Company. Prior to that, Scott served as Metro North Region manager and was responsible for providing overall leadership, including operations, sales, customer service and external affairs, for the region’s 325,000 customers. Scott began her career at Southern Company in 1995 and has since held a variety of leadership roles at Georgia Power, including director of the Customer Care Center, distribution manager for the Metro West Region, manager of the Distribution Control Center and manager of workforce planning. Prior to joining Southern Company, Scott worked in engineering, marketing and franchise negotiation functions for Florida Power Corporation. Scott holds bachelor’s degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Florida, as well as studio art from the State University of New York. In addition, she has completed the executive program at Emory University and the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School executive accounting and finance program. About Georgia Power ### |
