Michael Harvey named Mississippi Power Pine Belt Division manager
Gulfport, Miss. – Mississippi Power named Michael Harvey as the new Pine Belt Division manager today. Harvey will manage all customer service functions and will represent Mississippi Power Company as a leader in the community, responsible for all external activities in the Pine Belt Division. Harvey previously served as the Major Accounts manager in the Marketing department, responsible for providing vision, strategic direction and leadership to the company’s statewide major accounts team. “I am extremely excited for the opportunity to serve our customers across the Pine Belt,” Harvey said. “As a graduate of Southern Miss, Hattiesburg has always felt like a second home and I look forward to leading our employees in the 12 counties we serve in the Pine Belt.” Harvey joined Mississippi Power in August 2001 as an environmental specialist in the Environmental Quality group. He has also served as the Compliance and Support manager at Plants Watson and Daniel and as the Jackson County Area manager. A native of Moss Point, Harvey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Biology and Chemistry and a Masters of Public Health, both from the University of Southern Mississippi. He currently serves as the Vice Chair for the Board of Directors at Singing River Federal Credit Union and has been involved with the Boys & Girls Club in Jackson County, the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce board and the United Way board. “Michael’s experience at Mississippi Power, from our generating facilities to the customer service side of the business, has shaped him into a tremendous leader,” Jeff Franklin, vice president of Customer Services Organization, said. “Our employees are members of the communities we serve, and Michael is committed to building and sustaining positive relationships with our customers and neighbors in the Pine Belt.” Harvey is married to his high school sweetheart Nicole and they have three children.
