Gulf Power ranked as No. 2 most trusted electric utility in country

Gulf Power has been recognized as one of the top two most trusted electric utilities in the country.

Cogent Reports, a division of Market Strategies International, surveyed 19,000 residential utility customers earlier this year as part of its Utility Trusted Brand & Customer Engagement study. Cogent surveyed customers of the largest 125 natural gas, electric and combination utilities in the country to determine the most trusted companies.

Companies were measured on overall engaged customer relationship strength in six categories including, concern for customers, company reputation, credibility, dedication, environmental performance and community involvement.

According to Cogent Reports, this study provides a more holistic view of the relationship consumers have with utility providers by including measurements for brand trust along with operational satisfaction and product experience.

“We were thrilled to hear about being ranked as a top trusted utility,” said Gulf Power President & CEO Stan Connally. “Earning the trust of our customers is something we take very seriously and this survey highlights the priority our employees have put on serving our customers and communities across Northwest Florida.”

Out of a possible 1,000 points, Gulf Power scored 722 points, just shy of the top score of 724 for electric companies, which was awarded to Florida Power & Light, a Juno Beach-based company. Oklahoma Natural Gas was rated first in trust for gas utilities and was second overall in the country with a score of 723.

Only 15 companies out of the 125 reached brand trust scores of at least 700 or more.
