Georgia Power names David Poroch vice president and comptroller
ATLANTA – August 28, 2014 – Georgia Power announced today that David Poroch has been named vice president and comptroller. Elected by the company’s board of directors, Poroch will lead Georgia Power’s corporate accounting organization, including financial reporting, accounting research and internal controls, as well as revenue tax, joint ownership, property and regulatory accounting. Poroch joins Georgia Power from Southern Company Services, where served as vice president and chief audit executive since January 2012. In this role, he oversaw the internal auditing services of Southern Company and its subsidiaries. Prior to joining Southern Company Services, Poroch was a partner with Deloitte & Touche LLP, where he gained nearly two decades of experience in the utilities sector of the energy industry and financial services. Poroch is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwood University in Michigan.
