No sales tax will be collected on the first $1,500 spent on qualifying energy efficient home appliances beginning Friday, Sept. 19 through Sunday, Sept. 21.

The qualifying appliances must be ENERGY STAR or WaterSense appliances and includes products like water heaters, pool pumps, clothes washers, refrigerators, dishwashers, freezers, ceiling fans, window air-conditioning units, showerheads, bathroom sink faucets and light bulbs.

Customers can increase their savings by purchasing energy efficient appliances that also qualify for one of Gulf Power’s many EarthCents rebates. Customers can apply online at gulfpower.com/rebates or call 1-877-655-4001.

Gulf Power EarthCents rebates are available for the following qualifying energy efficient products:

• Heat pump water heater - $250
• Variable speed pool pump - $100
• Clothes washer - $75
• Refrigerator - $50
• Freezer - $25
• Window air-conditioning unit - $75

“Our hope is that Gulf Power customers will take advantage of these offers and save money through our rebates, the sales tax holiday and save money over the life of their new, energy efficient appliances they purchase,” said Natalie Smith, Gulf Power spokesperson.
