BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Sept. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Southern Nuclear, a subsidiary of Southern Company headquartered in Birmingham, completed a month-long campaign for United Way at the corporate headquarters raising more than $268,000.
Southern Nuclear corporate employees also support United Way agencies through involvement in community service activities. This year, employees have read to local students with Better Basics, built homes for local families with Habitat for Humanity, served meals at the Ronald McDonald House, and provided maintenance at Pathways, among other things. Employees donated cleaning supplies to Three Hots and a Cot and held a golf tournament to benefit the American Cancer Society.
