More than 500 plan to attend Gulf Power’s Economic Symposium

More than 500 community and business leaders from across Northwest Florida plan to attend Gulf Power’s 18th annual Economic Symposium — a highly anticipated event focusing on the region’s economic future scheduled for Oct. 13-14 at the Baytowne Conference Center in Sandestin.

This year’s theme, Game Plan for the Future … What’s Your Next Move?, brings together speakers who will discuss thought-provoking and strategic topics from Preparing Workers for our Changing Economy to reviewing Economic Optimism for 2015. A panel session will include discussions about what’s worked and hasn’t worked for some successful local business owners.

Scheduled speakers include Peter Sheahan, CEO of ChangeLabs, and author of “Fl!p;” Nicholas T. Pinchuk, chairman and CEO of Snap-on Incorporated; Travis H. Brown, president & co-founder of Pelopidas, LLC, and author of “How Money Walks;” Florida Secretary of Commerce Gray Swoope; and Jesse Panuccio, executive director of the Department of Economic Opportunity.

Northwest Florida residents can tweet with attendees and speakers during the event at #NWFLNextMove on Twitter, and can follow the conversation on GulfPowerSymposium.com. To see photos and receive live updates about the event, “Like” Gulf Power on Facebook at Facebook.com/GulfPowerCompany.
