Clay Shoot for America’s Heroes returns to help veterans
Charities that support the military received more than $50,000 last year from the Gulf Power Clay Shoot for America’s Heroes. This year, the annual event returns to the Santa Rosa Shooting Center in Pace on Nov. 6 to support Building Homes for Heroes and Gulf Coast Veterans In Need — two local charities that provide assistance to wounded military members and their families in Northwest Florida. Building Homes for Heroes gives mortgage-free homes to wounded American service members. Gulf Coast Veterans In Need supports severely injured veterans in the Pensacola Bay Area. The Clay Shoot for America’s Heroes is run by Gulf Power Transformers, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit employees service organization that provides support to our local communities through volunteer service and financial assistance. This year’s event will feature two start times at Santa Rosa Shooting Center in Pace. Flights begin in the morning at 8 a.m. and in the afternoon at 1 p.m. — with a hearty lunch from the award-winning Big Juicy Butts barbecue team being served for both flights at noon. The lunch will feature barbecue, and a silent and live auction. To reserve a spot for a team or obtain sponsorship opportunities, email Tina Stojak at tmstojak@southernco.com or call (850) 444-6884.
