Journalists discuss anniversary of Selma to Montgomery March
Reporters who covered historic 1965 events share their perspective

What: A panel of veteran Alabama journalists will discuss the historic Selma to Montgomery March during the Alabama Press Association (APA) 144th annual Journalism Summit. Three of the journalists – Al Benn, longtime reporter and columnist for the Montgomery Advertiser; Bob Martin, publisher of the Montgomery Independent; and former Selma Times-Journal reporter and editor Jamie Wallace – covered the events 50 years ago. Wallace was on the Edmund Pettus Bridge during “Bloody Sunday.” The discussion will be moderated by longtime Alabama Media Group reporter Barnett Wright.
