Anne Kaiser to lead Georgia Power Community & Economic Development

ATLANTA – Georgia Power announced today that Anne Kaiser has been elected vice president of Georgia Power’s Community & Economic Development group. Kaiser succeeds Pedro Cherry, who has been elected senior vice president of the company’s regional operations in metro Atlanta. Georgia Power Community & Economic Development is internationally recognized as one of the top economic development organizations in the world, credited with bringing an estimated 121,000 new jobs and $24 billion in capital investment to Georgia over the past decade alone. In her new role, Kaiser will lead one of the largest development organizations in Georgia and will be responsible for the company’s efforts to recruit new businesses to Georgia, as well as support local and statewide initiatives to improve the marketability of communities in the state. Kaiser has worked with Georgia Power since 1998 in a variety of marketing, sales and operational roles. Most recently, she served as vice president of Georgia Power’s Northwest Region, where she was responsible for the company’s service to more than 170,000 customers in 15 counties. Previously, she served as vice president of sales and vice president of corporate services for Georgia Power. A graduate of the University of Georgia, Kaiser serves on the board of directors of Berry College and chairs the Dean’s Council of Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. Previously, she chaired the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce and the Rome Development Authority and was appointed by Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal to the Coosa-North Georgia Regional Water Planning Council. Transitioning from his role in Community & Economic Development to senior vice president of Georgia Power’s Metro Atlanta Region, Pedro Cherry will responsible for all company operations, sales, customer service, local economic and community development and external affairs activities for 1.2 million customers across 20 counties.
