Alabama Power, state Conservation Department team up to place Christmas trees in Lake Martin to enhance fish habitat

What:                   Alabama Power and the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) are joining forces Tuesday, April 21 to drop 200 Christmas trees into Lake Martin to create fish habitats.

When/where:      The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Wind Creek State Park boat ramp, next to the marina store.

Note for media:   Media are invited to ride along on two barges that will be used to place trees in select areas of the lake. Prior to departure, representatives from Alabama Power and ADCNR will provide brief remarks.

Directions:           From Alexander City, head south on Cherokee Road (Highway 63) about 4 miles toward the lake. Turn left on Hodnett Drive (Highway 128). Boat ramp is 1.5 miles on the right.
