'Amazing Alabama' website gets new look

BIRMINGHAM, Aug. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Amazing Alabama (www.amazingalabama.com) – an industry recruiting website launched by Alabama Power in 2006 – has a new look with enhanced interactive tools, making it easier for businesses and industries to discover the advantages of coming to Alabama.

"We wanted to retool the site to make it easier to navigate and more powerful in terms of data and analytics," said Patrick Murphy, vice president of Economic Development for Alabama Power. "At the same time, we want to more aggressively showcase the great gains Alabama has made attracting industries from around the world."

In addition to the enhanced data and analytical capabilities, a new feature allows businesses and industrial prospects to quickly and easily compare Alabama's tax incentives and tax-friendly policies with other states.

"We know the importance of providing accurate and timely incentive-related data to our prospects, and now that data is at their fingertips," Murphy said.

The improved website has more infographics, user-friendly navigation, and refreshes frequently so information is current. "We're taking what was a good site, and making it better," Murphy added.

Alabama Power  was one of the first utilities in the nation to create an economic development organization. In recent years, the company's Economic Development department has played a role in helping the state recruit global manufacturers, including Airbus, Honda and Mercedes-Benz.

We work closely with the Alabama Department of Commerce, economic development organizations and local communities to help recruit business and industry," Murphy said. "The updated Amazing Alabama website will support the efforts of all our partners to bring more jobs to our state."
