Expanded Fiber Network to Colo Atl Will Meet Growing Customer Demand
ATLANTA, August 10, 2017 – Southern Telecom, Inc. (STI), a subsidiary of Southern Company, today announced an agreement with Colo Atl to increase its fiber network building access. The new fiber runs to the Colo Atl Meet-Me-Area (MMA) via diverse fiber risers. Southern Telecom now has almost 1,400 dark fiber route miles in the Southeast United States. Metro networks in the central business districts of Atlanta, Ga., Birmingham, Ala., Jacksonville, Fla., and Macon, Ga., offer open access to many carrier hotels, wireless towers and enterprise customers.
