Southern Company today announced a new 30-second television commercial centered around the companys role as the Official Energy Company of the SENIOR PGA TOUR.
The television commercial features SENIOR PGA TOUR player Joe Inman, a Georgia resident, who is currently under sponsorship contract with Southern Company. The commercial, titled Slow Down Joe, highlights Inmans personal energy coupled with Southern Companys core business strategy of generating reliable energy for millions of customers in the Southeast.
The commercial will debut on Friday, July 27, during the CNBC Energy Watch segment, and during the SENIOR PGA TOUR on PAX TV. It also will air during CNBC coverage of the remaining SENIOR PGA TOUR programming.
Inman has been associated with Southern Company since 1997, when the company began its sports marketing efforts and positioned itself as the Official Energy Company of the PGA TOUR.

The television commercial is the first broadcast assignment developed and produced by Fitzgerald +CO since it was selected as one of Southern Companys and Georgia Powers advertising agencies in April.
