AMSTERDAM – Southern Energy Europe, a unit of Southern Energy Inc., announced today that Jomar Eldoy has joined the organization as co-chief commercial officer, overseeing energy trading and risk management operations and coordinating sales and origination activities throughout Europe.

Eldoy will share the chief commercial officer responsibilities with Phil Saunders, who will direct market analysis and research, product development and structuring. Saunders has been an executive at Southern Energy Europe for the past year and previously directed marketing and sales operations at Western Power Distribution (formerly known as South Western Electricity), Southern Energy Europe’s affiliate company in the United Kingdom. Both Eldoy and Saunders will report to Barney S. Rush, chief executive of Southern Energy Europe.

Eldoy, with more than 10 years experience in the European energy trading industry, previously served as senior vice president of Hafslund ASA, based in Oslo, Norway, where he directed energy trading activity in Europe and the United States.

“Together, Jomar and Phil will focus on our customer relationships in the key liberalizing markets of Europe,” Rush said.
