ATLANTA Southern Company today announced a regular quarterly dividend of 33 1/2 cents per share on the companys common stock, payable June 6, 2002, to shareholders of record May 6, 2002.
This marks the 218th consecutive quarter dating back to 1948 that Southern Company will have paid a dividend to its shareholders. The quarterly dividend equals an annual rate of $1.34 per share.
