Southern Nuclear Operating Company and Troy State University Dothan hosted the Southeastern Educators Workshop in Nuclear Sciences January 22, 1999.
Eighty high school and college science teachers from Alabama, Florida and Georgia attended the workshop, which featured classroom instruction and laboratory exercises conducted by certified health physicists, and a tour of the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant.
Upon completing the workshop, the teachers received their choice of graduate level credit or continuing education credit from Troy State University Dothan. They also received nuclear science teaching materials to use in their classrooms.
