ATLANTA –Southern Company (NYSE: SO) plans to release its consolidated third quarter earnings at 7:30 a.m. (EST) on Monday, Oct. 23, at the same time that Southern Energy (NYSE: SOE), Southern Company’s 80-percent-owned subsidiary, issues its first earnings release as a public company. Southern Energy made its initial public offering of shares on Sept. 27.

Southern Energy will conduct a conference call for financial analysts at 11:30 a.m. (EST) on Monday, Oct. 23, to discuss third quarter earnings and to provide a general business update.
