Hall, Shackleford elected to Alabama Power Board of Directors
Grayson Hall and Robert Mitchell “Mitch” Shackleford were elected today to the Board of Directors of Alabama Power. Hall is chairman, president and chief executive officer of Birmingham-based Regions Financial Corporation. Shackleford, who resides in Mobile, is vice president of Canfor Western U.S. South Operations. “We are privileged to welcome Mr. Hall and Mr. Shackleford to our board,” said Alabama Power Chairman, President and CEO Mark Crosswhite. “Their knowledge and experience will be invaluable to our company, and we are grateful for their willingness to serve.” Hall began his career at Regions in 1980 and has served in roles of increasing responsibility, including operations, technology, consumer banking, commercial banking, and wealth management. He was elected vice chairman and a member of the boards of directors of Regions Financial Corporation and Regions Bank in 2008 and was named president and chief executive officer in 2010. He assumed the role of chairman, president and chief executive officer in May 2013. Shackleford began his career at Gulf Lumber Company in 1977. In 1988 he became executive vice president of Gulf Lumber and in 2009 was named president of Scotch-Gulf Lumber Company. Following the purchase of Scotch-Gulf by Canada-based Canfor, one of the world’s largest producers of sustainable lumber, pulp and paper, Shackleford was named vice president of Canfor Western U.S. South Operations. Hall serves on the public company board of Vulcan Materials and on the boards of the Birmingham Business Alliance and the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama, among other positions. He also serves as a representative on the Federal Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank. Hall holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from The University of the South and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Alabama. He is also a graduate of the Stonier School of Banking. Shackleford has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Alabama.
