Alabama Power Foundation awards Elevate grants
Fourteen nonprofits receive $10,000 this year, $5,000 next year
The Alabama Power Foundation has awarded 14 Elevate grants to nonprofits across Alabama. The Elevate program empowers organizations by providing funds for community projects, capacity-building workshops and networking opportunities. The 2015-2016 recipients will each receive a $10,000 grant in 2015 and a $5,000 challenge grant in 2016. Grant winners will participate in workshops through 2016 to help them grow and find ways to expand their positive impact. New to the grant package this year, Elevate recipients will receive a technology assessment from TechBridge. The assessment will provide a detailed look at their technology and an implementation plan for identified needs. This assessment adds $5,000 in value to the Elevate grant packages. “We look forward to helping our nonprofit partners strengthen their communities and their own organizations,” said John Hudson, president of the Alabama Power Foundation. “The Elevate program offers capacity-building resources to its grantees so that they can do more with the funding they receive. We are particularly excited about our new partnership with TechBridge, which provides an opportunity to offer yet another important resource to our grantees.” “TechBridge is honored to partner with the Alabama Power Foundation,” said James Franklin, CEO of TechBridge. “We provide the tools and business strategies its Elevate grantees need to grow their capacity to serve the Alabama community. As a nonprofit ourselves, we are uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between nonprofits’ technology needs and the for-profit community’s resources.” The 2015-2016 Elevate grantees are:
