Gulf Power employees to host annual Clay Shoot for America’s Heroes

PENSACOLA, Florida – Gulf Power employees will host the annual Clay Shoot for America’s Heroes on Thursday, Nov. 5 at Santa Rosa Shooting Center.

The daylong event is designed to support local organizations that provide for the direct needs of active-duty and retired military service members and their families across Northwest Florida.

“These organizations were selected this year because of the vital support they provide to our military veterans,” said Stan Connally, Gulf Power president and CEO. “Our employees are proud to support groups that help our military friends and their families, and our hope is that this event helps these groups extend their efforts even further."

Proceeds will benefit Building Homes for Heroes, Special Operations Warrior Foundation and the University of West Florida’s Military & Veterans Resource Center. Last year, more than $63,000 was awarded to local organizations that support military families.

This year’s event will feature two start times. Flights begin in the morning at 8 a.m. and in the afternoon at 1 p.m. All participants will enjoy a special lunch of barbecued Boston butt at noon. A silent auction will also be held throughout the day.

The morning awards will be presented during lunch and the afternoon awards will be presented upon completion.
