LAKE CONDITIONS ALERT
Spillway gates continue operating at Coosa River dams; Weiss and Logan Martin lakes expected above summer levels

Because of the recent heavy rains, Alabama Power will continue operating spillway gates for the next few days at Weiss, Neely Henry, Logan Martin, Lay and Jordan dams on the Coosa River.

Both Weiss and Logan Martin lakes are expected to go above their summer pool levels.  Weiss Lake is expected to peak under elevation 565 feet, which is less than 1 foot above its summer pool level, on Friday, Feb. 26. Logan Martin Lake is expected to peak near elevation 468 feet, about 3 feet above its summer pool level, on Friday, Feb. 26.

Alabama Power will provide updates to these projections, as necessary.

Alabama Power will continue to closely monitor conditions on the lakes and manage resources carefully. Individuals with boats and other water-related equipment and facilities should always be alert to changing conditions on Alabama Power reservoirs and be prepared to take the necessary steps to protect their property.
