Gulf Power crews follow Hermine’s wake to aid restoration
Following devastating damage that left people without power across northern Florida and Georgia, Gulf Power crews are deploying to help restore power and hope. A storm team of more than 100 are already on the road to aid crews in storm restoration in Georgia and Tallahassee, Florida due to widespread power outages caused by Hurricane Hermine. As many as 70,000 customers are without power in Tallahassee and 66,000 throughout Georgia. “Our crews monitored the storm throughout the night in case restoration was needed in the Panama City area,” said Jeff Rogers, Gulf Power spokesperson. “Since the area was virtually unscathed, our crews were able to transition quickly to be able to help our neighboring utilities get the power back on for their customers.” “There is great security and strength in being able to call on our Southern Company sister utilities for help,” said Rogers. “We’ve received help from them in the past and our teams are always ready to be there for them when they need us.” Follow our crews progress on Gulf Power’s Facebook page. ### Gulf Power is an investor-owned energy provider with all of its common stock owned by Atlanta-based Southern Company.
