ATLANTA – Oct.17 – Atlanta-based Southern Company Gas today announced the appointment of Marshall Lang to president of Sequent Energy Management, effective immediately.

In his new role, Lang is responsible for all aspects of Sequent Energy’s business. Sequent Energy is one of the largest wholesale natural gas marketers and asset managers in North America. The business primarily focuses on providing natural gas marketing and asset management services to gas utilities, producers, gas-fired generators, and industrial and municipal utility customers. Prior to this role, Lang served as Sequent Energy’s senior vice president of marketing.

“Marshall has been an integral part of our leadership team for many years,” said Pete Tumminello, group president of commercial businesses for Southern Company Gas. “He has helped shape and grow this business and has contributed significantly to its success. He will provide great leadership to our Houston-based operations and build upon Sequent’s strong reputation in the industry.”

Lang will be supported in this role by Robert “Bob” Hayes, chief operating officer. Hayes will be responsible for overseeing all of Sequent’s trading and operations activities. He previously served as senior vice president of trading for Sequent.
