What: The Renew Our Rivers Black Warrior River cleanup along the Tuscaloosa Riverwalk is Monday, April 10. Volunteers should wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes and report at 3 p.m. at The Park at Manderson Landing. Minors must have a chaperone to participate. The cleanup will end at 7 p.m.

This cleanup is coordinated by the University of Alabama Student Government Association, Local Roots and Alabama Power.

Overview: Volunteers for Renew Our Rivers, one of the Southeast’s largest river cleanup campaigns, have collected more than 14 million pounds of trash and debris since the program’s inception in 2000. This year, 32 cleanups are planned through November on the Alabama, Black Warrior, Cahaba, Chattahoochee, Coosa, Mobile and Tallapoosa rivers.

Directions: From I-20 West: Merge onto Highway 69 via exit 71B toward Tuscaloosa. Follow for 3 miles then turn right onto University Boulevard. Take the first left onto Greensboro Avenue and continue 0.21 mile then turn right onto Jack Warner Parkway. Follow for 0.5 mile then make a U-turn. The Park at Manderson Landing will be on the right.
