The Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant and the Edwin I. Hatch Electric Generating Plant have received the National Habitat Conservation Award, and have been re-certified as wildlife habitats by the Wildlife Habitat Council.
The certification program recognizes outstanding wildlife habitat management and environmental education efforts at corporate sites. Certification requirements are strict and require that sites apply for periodic renewal.
Plant Farley has been a certified wildlife habitat since 1992, Plant Hatch since 1994.
