Mississippi Power completes restoration to all customers
Customers reconnected less than 24 hours after Hurricane Nate made landfall

Gulfport, Miss. – Mississippi Power restored electricity service to all customers who are currently able to receive power following Hurricane Nate. Nearly 22,000 customers lost power due to the Category 1 storm and Mississippi Power has been able to safely and efficiently return power to those customers impacted.
 
“I am pleased we were able to restore service today ahead of schedule to those customers who could receive power,” said Mississippi Power President and CEO Anthony Wilson. “Our team and the additional resources dispatched to assist us worked very hard and safely to get the lights back on for our customers. I am also deeply appreciative of the assistance from all public safety and government partners who provided their support before, during and after Hurricane Nate.”

Mississippi Power crews were assisted by nearly 1,000 crewmembers from Southern Company subsidiaries, including Georgia Power and Power Secure, as well as other contracted personnel including lineman, tree crews and damage assessment teams.
