Volunteers set to clean Neely Henry Lake Oct. 28-Nov. 2
What: The Renew Our Rivers Neely Henry Lake cleanup is Monday, Oct. 28, through Saturday, Nov. 2, on the Coosa River. Volunteers will meet daily at 9 a.m. at the Gadsden City Boat Docks. Volunteers should wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Minors must have a chaperone. The Renew Our Rivers cleanup is coordinated by Alabama Power, Gadsden Beautification Board, Keep Etowah Beautiful Inc., Sheriff Jonathon Horton, The Gadsden Times, Etowah County Commission, AT&T Pioneers and Gadsden State Community College. Overview: Volunteers for Renew Our Rivers, one of the Southeast’s largest river cleanup campaigns, have collected more than 15.5 million pounds of trash and debris since the program’s inception in 2000. Continue on I-759 and turn left on George Wallace Drive. Keep going through four red lights and the city of Gadsden Boat Dock is on the left behind Dollar General and Farmers Furniture.
