ATLANTA – The Southern Company 2005 Annual Meeting of Stockholders will take place at 10 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, May 25, at the JW Marriott Hotel Buckhead Atlanta.

At the meeting, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer David M. Ratcliffe will report on Southern Company business issues and future plans. Also, shareholders will elect the company’s Board of Directors and vote on other matters.
