ATLANTA – Southern Energy Inc., a unit of Southern Company, has completed the sale of its interest in Hidroeléctrica Alicurá, a 1,000-megawatt hydroelectric plant in Argentina, to AES Corp. for $205 million. The selling price releases Southern Energy from its debt obligations and allows it to buy out minority partners.

Its Southern Company Energy Marketing unit provides energy trading, marketing and financial services and other energy-related commodities, products and services to customers in North America.
