What: Birmingham-area media are invited to experience the first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle in Alabama.  The pre-production prototype Ford Escape is one of a limited number nationwide undergoing testing to help bring the electric vehicle to the commercial market.

 When: TODAY, April 20, 2009.
Media is advised to arrive at 2 p.m. for a briefing on the technology. A test drive of the vehicle will be available until 3:30 p.m.

Where: Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum at Barber Motorsports Park, 6040 Barber Motorsports Parkway, Birmingham, Ala. 35094. From downtown Birmingham follow Interstate 20 toward Atlanta.  Take exit 140 toward Leeds. Turn right onto Rex Lake Road. Travel 0.7 miles and turn right onto Barber Motorsports Parkway.
