What:  Renew our Rivers will celebrate 10 years with a luncheon hosted by Keep Etowah Beautiful on Friday, May 1 at noon at Riverfront Park in Gadsden.  All media are invited. Lunch will be provided. Presentations will include Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin and Chief Scott Hassell, Gadsden Mayor Sherman Guyton, Alabama Power Vice President of Environmental Affairs Matt Bowden and Keep Etowah Beautiful Executive Director Lisa Dover.  Parking is available in The Fish Market parking lot.

The annual H. Neely Henry cleanup is Saturday, May 2. Volunteers with or without boats will meet at Gadsden City Boat Docks at 8 a.m. to remove trash, tires and discarded items from the lake.  The cleanup will end at noon.

Overview:  Renew Our Rivers, the Southeast’s largest river cleanup campaign, is celebrating its 10-year anniversary. The cleanup on H. Neely Henry began in 1999 as Renew the Coosa.

Follow Interstate 59 North from South of Gadsden, Interstate 59 South if coming from North of Gadsden.  Merge onto Interstate 759 East.  Drive approximately one mile and turn left on George Wallace Drive.  Travel approximately one mile to the intersection of East Broad Street and George Wallace Drive.
