John Ed McDanal will lead Gulf Power’s Panama City operations as District Manager. He replaces Ted Spangenberg, who has been named to a new position as Gulf Power’s Director of Military Affairs, based in Pensacola.
McDanal will be responsible for community relations, customer service and marketing functions in the Panama City district, which extends from Panama City north to the Chipley and west to near Walton County.
McDanal began his career at Gulf Power in 1981 as a Commercial Marketing Specialist and has held positions in the Residential, Industrial and Manufacturing Segments within the Marketing organization. He has served as Panama City District Marketing Manager since 2007.
He serves as Co-Chairman for Leadership Bay and is a member of the Existing Industry Committee, Military Affairs Committee, Manufacturer’s Roundtable, and on the Board of Directors of the Bay County Small Business Incubator. McDanal has also worked with the American Red Cross, Girl Scouts and United Way.
“I look forward to continuing the excellent customer service and community support in the Panama City area that Ted has provided for the past nine years,” McDanal said. “These are exciting times, with a new international airport on the horizon and opportunities for growth all along the Gulf Coast.”
