Georgia Power, TIO Networks Corp. Launch Self-Service Automated Bill Payment Program in Atlanta Best Buy Stores

ATLANTA, April 15  -- Georgia Power customers now have more ways to pay their electricity bills.

Georgia Power has partnered with TIO Networks Corp. and Best Buy to launch a self-service automated bill payment program in select Best Buy locations in metro Atlanta.  Using self-service payment kiosks, customers will navigate through bill-pay applications in either English or Spanish, and insert cash directly into self-serve automated kiosks to securely complete transactions.

Besides providing additional payment locations, the kiosks offer customers the option of making payments on weekends and after business hours when Georgia Power's local offices are closed.  All payments will be posted immediately to the customer's account.  The customers will have the option to either print or forward receipts to an email address of their choice.  Users will pay a $2 convenience fee per transaction.

"Georgia Power is always looking for ways to better serve its customers," said Georgia Power's vice president of Customer Services Gerald Johnson.  "The new payment kiosks provide our customers a convenient way to pay their bills along with additional payment locations and expanded hours."

Payments can be made at the following Best Buy locations:

2537 Piedmont Road NE – Atlanta

2940 Turner Hill Road – Lithonia

2460 Cobb Parkway–SE – Smyrna

1875 Pleasant Hill Road – Duluth

1980 Mount Zion Road – Morrow

4145 Lavista Road – Tucker

670 Dawsonville Highway – Gainesville

While making their Georgia Power bill payments, customers can also use kiosks to pay bills for other services like cell phone, cable and satellite companies, and major and retail credit cards companies.

Georgia Power is the largest subsidiary of Southern Company, one of the nation's largest generators of electricity.  The company is an investor-owned, tax-paying utility with rates well below the national average.  Georgia Power serves 2.3 million customers in all but four of Georgia's 159 counties.
