Volunteers roll up their sleeves May 1 for cleanup on H. Neely Henry Reservoir, part of Renew Our Rivers campaign
What: The annual H. Neely Henry cleanup is Saturday, May 1. Weather permitting, volunteers with or without boats will meet at the Gadsden City Boat Docks at 8 a.m. to remove trash, tires and discarded items from the lake. The cleanup will end at noon. This Renew Our Rivers cleanup is coordinated by Keep Etowah Beautiful and Alabama Power employees. The cleanup on H. Neely Henry began in 1999 as Renew the Coosa. In 2009, volunteers removed nearly 18 tons of trash from the reservoir.
