Alabama Power board of directors elects Scivley as new officer
The Alabama Power board of directors has elected Don Scivley as vice president with responsibility for Energy Sales and Efficiency. Most recently Marketing director for Alabama Power, Scivley was responsible for establishing strategic direction for marketing and sales through market planning, economic evaluation, sales development, sales support, power contracts and power quality. He was also responsible for developing and implementing energy efficiency programs. Scivley began his career with Alabama Power in 1984 as a junior accountant in the Western Division based in Tuscaloosa. He progressed though several supervisory and management positions, having served as the assistant to the executive vice president of Alabama Power’s customer service organization and the assistant to the senior vice president of Marketing and Customer Service, before assuming his previous assignment. “Don’s experience will help us create new opportunities in sales and energy efficiency programs for Alabama Power’s customers,” said Charles McCrary, president and CEO, Alabama Power. “Don’s leadership characteristics show he was the correct choice for this position.” Scivley is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and is a graduate of Leadership Calhoun County. He has been active in several civic clubs, chambers of commerce and charitable organization activities. Scivley and his wife, Teri, have a son, Brian, and a daughter, Hannah.
