Georgia Power names Greg Roberts vice president of Pricing & Planning
ATLANTA – Georgia Power’s Board of Directors today elected Greg Roberts to the position of vice president – Pricing & Planning. Roberts, who currently serves as director of Pricing and Rates, will retain his current responsibilities and assume responsibilities for Market Planning and Resource Policy and Planning. He will continue to report to Chris Bell, vice president of Energy Planning & Sales. “Planning and pricing has never been more important in our company’s history. Greg’s proven leadership ability and work experiences, including managing one of the largest real-time pricing programs in the country, well position him for this opportunity,” said Paul Bowers, Georgia Power president & CEO. “With his knowledge of our business and proven track record of results, Greg will be an asset to our leadership team as we continue to strive to provide our product at the most affordable prices and value to our customers.”
Since joining Georgia Power in 1981 as a Co-op student in Power Generation, Roberts has held a variety of power delivery and marketing management positions. Since December 2006, he has been responsible for the design, administration and application of Georgia Power’s tariff portfolio. In 2010, he assumed responsibility for the administration of the Georgia Territorial Electric Service Act.
Roberts earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University.
