GULFPORT, Miss., July 15, 2011 – Mississippi Power has scheduled work to replace a transmission pole beginning Tuesday, July 19, through Thursday, July 21, in east Gulfport. The work will require the closing of the intersection of Magnolia and Pine streets including 100 yards of road in all four directions from 5:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day.

The work will require no interruption of electric service.

“The work is necessary to perform maintenance of distribution and transmission facilities,” said Cindy Duvall, company spokesperson. “We hope that this advance notice will help minimize any inconvenience to our customers.”
