Riggins named vice president of Governmental Relations
Quentin P. Riggins has been named vice president of Governmental Relations for Alabama Power, effective Sept. 1. Riggins will be responsible for all aspects of governmental affairs at the state level. He replaces Leslie Sanders, who was recently named vice president of Alabama Power’s Southern Division. “Quentin brings a wealth of knowledge in state government and governmental relations,” said Charles McCrary, Alabama Power president and CEO. “We’re excited to have Quentin as part of our governmental relations team as we continue to work for the good of our customers.” After leaving the governor’s office, Riggins joined the Business Council of Alabama (BCA), where he led its governmental relations efforts as senior vice president of Governmental Affairs. After six successful years at BCA, Riggins started his own governmental affairs company in January 2010. Riggins holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and distributive education from Auburn University, where he was an All-American and All-Southeastern Conference linebacker. An active community leader, he serves on numerous boards and commissions, including the boards of directors of Leadership Alabama, the Auburn University Athletic Strategic Advisory Committee, the Central Alabama Sports Commission, Montgomery AIDS Outreach and the Governor’s Rural Action Commission. Riggins is married to Kimi Vines. They have one child. They are members of St. John’s AME Church in Montgomery, where he serves as a steward. Alabama Power, a subsidiary of Atlanta-based Southern Company (NYSE: SO), provides reliable, affordable electricity to more than 1.4 million customers across the state. |
