Gulf Power is donating 7,800 MRE meals to Manna Food Pantries to help the agency stock up their food supply.

“After learning about Angel Food Ministries closing and that Manna only had a one-month supply of food on hand, we realized we had an opportunity to help our community,” said Jeff Rogers, Gulf Power communications supervisor.

The 10 pallets of MREs will be delivered to the Manna Food Pantries building at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14 at 116 East Gonzalez Street in Pensacola.

 “As part of hurricane preparations we maintain supplies such as MREs to feed the extra workers we bring in to help after a hurricane,” said Rogers. “It doesn’t look like we will need these this year, so we are donating them to Manna. We hope these meals will help bridge the gap before the holiday donations of food begin coming in to the area food banks.”
