Plant Farley Unit 2 Returns to Service Following Planned Refueling
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Nov. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Unit 2 of the Joseph M. Farley Electric Generating Plant near Dothan, Al., resumed generating electricity on Nov. 10 at 1:05 a.m. CT after a scheduled refueling and maintenance outage was completed safely and successfully. Aside from refueling the reactor and performing regular maintenance and testing work, outage workers also replaced the units low pressure turbine. Also during the 32-day outage, Plant Farley Unit 1 continued to supply electricity safely.
