BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Nov. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Unit 2 of the Joseph M. Farley Electric Generating Plant near Dothan, Al., resumed generating electricity on Nov. 10 at 1:05 a.m. CT after a scheduled refueling and maintenance outage was completed safely and successfully. The refueling outage began Oct. 9, 2011.

Each unit at Plant Farley requires refueling every eighteen months. Aside from refueling the reactor and performing regular maintenance and testing work, outage workers also replaced the units low pressure turbine.

Also during the 32-day outage, Plant Farley Unit 1 continued to supply electricity safely.
