Employees Safely Bring Vogtle Unit 1 Back Online; Fleet Team Effort Key to Success
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., April 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Operators at the Alvin W. Vogtle Electric Generating Plant safely brought the facility's Unit 1 back online at 2:27 p.m. ET Monday after employees worked through a water pump issue. Feedwater pumps provide water to the steam generators. (Logo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20080801/SOCOLOGO ) The unit was taken offline Saturday, April 14 at approximately 1:30 p.m. ET in accordance with nuclear procedures and processes.
