Gulf Power installs concrete poles along Lagoon Drive on Panama City Beach

Gulf Power Company is installing concrete poles to replace wooden utility poles in the Panama City Beach area as part of a comprehensive plan to strengthen its system for storms and to enhance reliability.

This project will take approximately 3 to 4 months to complete. Due to the nature of the work involved, minimal outages and some lane closings could occur during this time. The impacted area is along North Lagoon Drive between Jay Street and Cypress Street.

To ensure the safety of the workers and the public, crews will need to interrupt electric service to isolated areas as new transformers are installed on the new poles. Customers will be notified before the interruption and service will be restored as soon as possible — usually within a few hours of the interruption.
