"We see tremendous value in helping our customers use energy more efficiently," said Michele Wagner, Georgia Power's energy efficiency director. "Offering this incentive at Walmart stores will enable a larger number of our customers to receive savings at the point of purchase in addition to receiving ongoing energy cost reductions when lighting their homes."

ENERGY STAR certified CFLs provide bright warm light, while using 75 percent less energy than standard incandescent lighting.  Special pricing is also available on a variety of wattages and color temperatures.

The incentive, offered through the company's EarthCents Lighting Program, will be available throughout 2013.  Customers can also take advantage of discounts on select packages of CFLs at participating *Costco, The Home Depot, Lowe's, and *Sam's Club stores, while supplies last.  For a complete list of participating retail locations visit georgiapower.com/lighting.

The Lighting Program is a part of Georgia Power's EarthCents initiative, which offers residential and business customers a portfolio of energy efficiency programs to help them save money, use energy efficiently and help the environment.
